Mathematics
Mathematics: Math is seen as another language. We could call the subject “numeracy” in keeping with “literacy”, which may more accurately reflect our understanding of the subject. Children need practice in mathematics in order to build confidence, and they often do best when the approach to the subject allows them to grow their sense of number over time. A “spiral curriculum”, one that keeps returning to certain basic concepts while at the same time pushing outward, meets the needs of most children. We work with math standards established by the National Council of Mathematics and draw our resources from the Miquon Math Program, Bridges Mathematics Curriculum, Math Their Way and Marilyn Burns material.

Tuition and Fees
The Lake and Park School offers a high quality program at a tuition rate that is roughly two-thirds that of many independent elementary schools in the Seattle area. In addition, financial aid is available.

Tuition for the 2023-2024 school year is $19,250. for children in the Beginning Room (an all day program) and above. The activity fee is $600.

We offer a half day program for very young children – those who are three or turning four. Tuition for the 2023-2024 school year is $11,930. The half day program runs daily from eight-thirty to noon. Children admitted into the program are automatically offered enrollment into the elementary school program. The activity fee is $400.

Upon acceptance to The Lake and Park School, enrollment is guaranteed by signing a digital contract and submitting a $1,500 non-refundable tuition deposit. The non-refundable tuition deposit is applied to the total annual tuition.

After School Care is available to full day students for an additional fee.
